"Understanding a client's needs begins with assessing the business environment in which the client resides. This environment includes factors such as the economy, environment, society, government regulations as well as the traditional concerns. Factors such as these are often overlooked and are a silent contributor to the failure of many computer related projects."

AGIT - Development Tracking System
The development Tracking System was developed for the AGIT department at Purdue University. The goal of the project was to develop a relational database management system with an Internet interface. Employees would use this interface to store and manage statistics pertaining to tasks/projects completed on any given day. The system was to have unique permissions depending on employee type by using server authentication and by creating a special administration section for site maintenance. The system also included dynamic, on-line help for users. Click below to view screen captures of the system.

The project began with an initial solicitation to the board of directors, which led to a professional consulting obligation. A strategic project plan was prepared for the board and was based on industry experience in web design, research, and individual needs of the client.
Once the project plan was approved by the company board of directors, research began and the final recommendation report was presented to one board member. It was then the responsibility of the board to approve the recommendations for the design team to implement.
Because this project brought together three writers to contribute ideas, the portions written by the other writers were omitted for the purpose of this website. Only sections of the report that were written by Noel Udofa appear in this website example. You may view it by clicking below.

Purdue Residences - Event Management RDBMS
This relational database management system was created for Purdue University Residences. Users included the management/executive team and Resident Assistants (RAs). Password authentication was used so that users could log into the system and perform user-specific functions. General functions were to create and maintain records pertaining to university residence activities and responsibilities. More specific functions included the creation of management reports, activity breakdowns, and budget statistics.

Lucent Technologies - GUI Test Automation
This project was developed for Lucent Technologies and included an automated test suite for a JSP and Unix based system. The automated tests utilized fault simulation to consistently and automatically inject stimulants into the user and server environment. Responses to the stimulants were then automatically recorded for later review.

Lucent Technologies - Action Item Requester
This project was developed for Lucent Technologies and included the development of an Internet-based, request system. Perl, CGI and JavaScript were used to process and present data. The interface was linked to a database system that consisted of several flat files that were controlled from one central unit - a control file written in KornShell. KornShell parameters were set according to dynamic Unix reports of system resources. Data was then stored and maintained following a logic to optimize file storage and retrieval.

AirTAB Group - HVAC Analysis System
This system was developed for AirTAB Group. The goal was to study HVAC blue prints and then to transfer them to computer graphics. Through this system, critical points of HVAC systems were easily spotted and tracked, which allowed the client to make accurate, knowledge-based estimates of HVAC projects.
